Come, Enjoy Freedom’s Sweetest Taste!

'The Truth' you insist you know,
And you just don’t want to grow.
Long stuck in that same groove,
From where you refuse to move.
Oh how foolish can you be!
It’s plain for all but you to see.
Triumphant in your false ease,
Go on then, do as you please,
But this to you I must share
(Because I do somewhat care),
Your belief is madness sheer,
You listening to me, my dear?
Oh my! How you boast and tell
Who’ll go to Heaven, who to Hell,
Like an ogre casting an evil spell,
As if all this you know full well.
And so you most boldly proclaim,
Day and night these words same:
“Those who firmly believe all I say
Will in Heaven enjoy eternal stay,
While those who reject what I tell
Will be cast into the fires of Hell.”
Ah! You fool, this nonsense cease,
Rid yourself of this deadly disease
That you’ve vowed to live to spread
Till the last day, when you fall dead,
Wasting your life, you should know,
Becoming your own inveterate foe.
In your foolish belief that your way
Is God’s one chosen path, as you say,
You’ve bound yourself to a false creed,
Rudely spurning all offers to be freed.
Yet, still I’ll say, “Your life don’t waste,
Come, enjoy freedom’s sweetest taste!”
