To you I ask, “What am I to do

On this day that’s come new?”

“Do nothing at all,” you say,

“It has always been this way,

 That never ever has anyone

On their own one deed done.

“Deeds get done, that is true,

But none do we ourselves do.

Over them we have no control,

We can’t decide our own role,

Planned it is by whom they call

The One, who manifests as all.

“So, if to me this you will ask,

What today must be your task,

I’ll say, ‘You can’t yourself do.

He will do it all through you,

Doing through your body-mind

‘Your’ today’s deeds He’s defined.

“By acting through you from inside

Deeds will be done as He will guide,

So, while their doer you may appear,

In truth, you’ll be His vehicle mere

For Him to have those deeds done

The sole doer of which He’s the one.

“So, do just nothing, simply allow

(Not worrying about why or how),

Him to do all the deeds He may

Will to do through you this day.”
