Maybe It’s Just You Dreaming!

In this Your world where we now stay

Troubles for sure will come our way.

Sometimes, in pain we want to scream,

But perhaps this world is just a dream,

A dream that’s been dreamt up by You,

And maybe dreaming is all that You do:

Dreaming up myriad beings and things,

Oh what joy to You this dreaming brings!

You dream up time-space in Your mind,

And other things of the strangest kind.

You dream up entire universes to be,

Doing this all in Your sheer revelry.

You dream up vast planets galore,

And stars that in vast space soar,

You dream up myriad life-forms too,

And in Your dream make them do

Diverse actions, of most varied sort,

That in Your Mind You have thought.

You dream up death, and also birth,

You dream up woe, and also mirth,

You dream up love, and also hate,

Maybe You dream up each being’s fate.

You dream up victory, and also defeat,

You dream up honesty, and also deceit.

You dream up the foolish and the wise,

You dream up people in diverse guise.

You dream up honour, and also disdain,

You dream up pleasure, and also pain.

You dream up kindness, and also greed,

You dream up every conceivable deed.

You dream up poverty, and also wealth,

You dream up cunningness and stealth.

You dream up peace, and also war,

Dreaming up both since days of yore.

 You dream up for us work and play,

And other things to be done each day.

You dream up darkness, and also light,

You dream up meekness and great might. 

You dream up sanity, and also madness,

You dream up happiness, and also sadness.

You dream up joy, bliss and merriment,

And every other delightful sentiment.

Sometimes, Your dream to us may appear

An awful nightmare, full of pain and fear,

Which makes us cry out in great anguish,

But maybe it’s all according to Your wish,

A flash in Your Mind shortly to be gone,

A phase in Your dream that'll soon move on.

If You'll ask me to give You a name,

In a dream requesting me the same,

‘The Great Dreamer’ is what I might say,

Your response to this now please convey.

In a dream, of course, Your reply please tell,

For in dreaming up things You really do excel!
