Minding Our Mind!

Heaven and Hell both in the mind,

See for yourself and this you’ll find.

The mind can turn Heaven into Hell,

And while in Hell in Heaven can dwell.

There’s no need till death to wait

For us to be living in either state.

Even while we may still be here,

Long before death does appear,

We can choose to be in either realm,

Before death strikes to overwhelm.

The sort of thoughts that we think

Can make us in deepest Hell to sink,

Or into Heaven raise us up straight,

Our mind deciding what’s our fate.

For this reason, those folks advise

Who are said to be truly wise,

“Of our minds take good care,

And of our thoughts be aware,

So that even now we can reside

In Heaven or Hell, where we decide.

Yes, even while on Earth we are,

And death still appears very far,

On either plane we can ourselves find

Simply by properly minding our mind.”
