‘Ordinary’ people see objects as mere objects, but a person of deep faith in God sees God’s handiwork in these objects and so perceives the presence of Creator when he sees the Creation. ‘Ordinary’ people remain at the level of external objects, but a person of deep faith in God goes beyond these objects and perceives the God that is behind them. Many people may have seen a fruit falling from a tree, but it was the one who saw the principle of gravity in the falling of a fruit who became Isaac Newton. Everyone sees matter around them, but it was the one who saw the movement of electrons in matter who became Michael Faraday. Particles exist everywhere, and every person sees them, but it was the one who saw the nuclear force present in particles who became Albert Einstein. Similarly, everyone sees the world, but it is only a person of deep faith in God who, on seeing the world, perceives the God who has brought it into being and continually sustains it, the One of whom the world is an expression.
Here, these words of the Bible attributed to Jesus Christ are very apt: “He who has ears to hear, let him hear”.
