They think You're angry, jealous and wild,
And not as I hoped: kind, gentle and mild.
They think that Your lips have never smiled,
As if being happy would make You defiled.
They think that You deem mirth a serious sin,
That perpetual mourning’s what You want us in.
They think laughter a grave crime You regard,
That if we make merry You’ll punish us hard.
They think that You wear a permanent frown,
That a pale ghostly face sits under Your crown.
They think You want us always to be sad,
And for us to be happy You deem as bad.
In the notions of You that they have made
You appear deadly serious, grave, and staid.
In books they penned but which they claim You sent,
You seem a fierce tyrant, driven by angry intent.
For long I believed their depictions of You,
Out of fear thinking all of this to be true.
But it's just all false, I was finally able to see,
That it’s make-believe now’s very clear to me.
I now know the idea of You as cruel, unkind,
Is simply the product of some perverted mind.
Wrong notions of You have caused much strife,
Exacting a very heavy toll of precious life.
Fierce and brutal is how they imagine You.
That's made them become the same way, too.
Believing You to be harsh might easily make
People commit evil supposedly for Your sake.
This has been happening down so many years,
Drowning the world in sorrow and tears.
Unwholesome notions of You as being cruel
Inevitably terrible misery and havoc will fuel.
These have caused conflict, wars, much hate,
And so, must be replaced before it’s too late.
How they've imagined You they must rethink,
If into total chaos the world isn't to sink.
Big restructuring is needed now in Theology,
And in the fields of Ontology and Cosmology.
There's an urgent task we simply have to do,
And that task is to majorly reimagine You.
A God abounding in joy is what we require,
Not a fiend threatening us with eternal fire.
We need a God with a great sense of humour,
Whose love is a known fact, not just a rumour.
We need a God who wants us to be joyful,
Not an ogre delighting in us being mournful.
We need to know you as our loving Creator,
And not, as they think, a cruel cosmic Dictator.
Knowing you as God of joy is what we now need,
In us discovering You as this You take the lead.

God is the creation of human mind, as time passes away the mind starts entering new horizon. Of course everybody appreciates a pleasing God, a kind God, a compationate God, or in a word a useful God, never a useless God.
