How many years for me still in store?

Ten, fifteen, or perhaps some more?

Whatever time may now remain

On earthly realm of joy and pain,

I now hand it all over to You,

Please do with it as You wish to.

For long I lived as per my mind,

But now I ask You to be so kind

As to take this burden that I bore,

I don’t want to carry it anymore,

For, what can this my mind know?

It’s bound to err: You made it so.

So, to You now my time left I hand,

My decision You fully understand.

Take it now as Your responsibility,

Accept it, in Your bounteous charity.

You must, for You placed me here,

I say all this without a tinge of fear.

These words I know You’ve well heard,

But with my plea have You concurred?
