You Search for Me Instead

She grew tired of searching for You,
No longer this did she want to do.
“If You care for me,” to You she said,
“You search for me now instead.
I won’t more seek for You here and there,
You reach out to me if for me You care.
Which parent will let their child roam,
And not seek to find it to bring it home?
Your love’s much greater, so they say,
So, You seek and find me, this I pray.
If You do this, I’ll then come to know
That You care for me, as You say is so.
Maybe I’ll stop here and let it all be,
And see if You set off in search of me.
If You rush at once, swiftly to my rescue,
I think I might repose all my faith in You.”
