A 'Child-Level Faith', Enough for Me

I long sought to know about You more

But became more confused than before,

For, folks about You varied things told,

Pressing their claims in manner bold.

I thought then in books I would find

The solution to confusions in my mind,

But after many books about You I read,

Finally to this firm conclusion I was led:

That all I needed to know about You

Was what for even a child would do,

Such as that You’re the world’s one king,

The creator of every being and thing,

That this vast universe it’s You who own,

And real power belongs to You alone,

That it’s You who for all our needs provide,

And it’s You who are our one true guide,

That it’s only to You whom we should pray,

Doing this faithfully, every single new day,

That Your laws we should seek to obey,

And do good in all we think, do and say,

And that, finally, to You we’ll all return,

And then from You Your judgment will earn,

When You’ll issue for us Your final decree,

Determining what is to be our eternity.

Such things about You were all I needed to know,

‘A child-level faith’, one might want to call it so.
