A Few Years More, At The Most

A few years more, at the most,
For me to ‘give up the ghost’.
The moment will soon come by
When in their eyes I will die,
But maybe it’s all a mere tale,
That’s told ourselves to regale,
And death’s just a change of dress,
Nothing more, and nothing less,
Simply this body that we shed
When they say we are dead,
And then, to Earth we return,
Being given here another turn,
Or we go to a heaven or hell,
To spend a long or short spell,
Or into God’s arms we race,
And there our self we efface,
Into Him being fully merged,
Of the false ‘I’ being purged.
None knows for sure at all
What after death will befall,
But soon I will come to know,
Death to me will surely show
What awaits on the other side,
When from here I would’ve died.
It won’t be long for me to wait,
At most, a few years for that date!
