All I want now is to gambol and play

With You, God, all through the day,

And at night in Your lap me You’ll keep,

Rocking me gently, You’ll put me to sleep

(Such deep sleep that I never wake again,

For, waking up can sometimes be a big pain),

And in my sleep, I’ll merge fully into You:

Lord, please arrange this, yes, please do!

This burden of ‘self’ is now too much to bear,

You know this, Lord, but do you not care?

Relieve me, please, soon from this plight,

So that finally, I can become free and light,

No longer existing as a separate entity,

But, instead, fused into You, for all eternity,

Leaving not a trace of separate ‘self’ behind,

Lord, please do this soon, please be so kind!

Lord, this load of ‘self’ is really immense,

Who’d readily accept it if they had any sense?

Handling this ‘self’ is now an onerous chore,

Which I do not want to do anymore.

From this burden of ‘self’ I now wish to flee,

Oh what wouldn’t I give from it to be free!

How I wish I could throw this ‘self’ away,

Or, better still, God, You do this, I pray!

This separation from You is making me to suffocate,

God, please do something about it before it’s too late!

Please this sense of ‘self’ of mine at once extinguish,

Because, it is the only cause for all my anguish.

How I long for this ‘self’ of mine to be soon no more,

Drowning in the Ocean and reaching the Other Shore,

No longer being ‘me’ but becoming fully one with You,

Lord, please hurry up and make this soon come true!
