From Me Those Tomes All Please Take

From me those tomes all please take,

Do me this favour, please, for my sake.

Those books once gave me great delight,

But now I can’t stand even their sight!

Ah! How much on them I did spend,

Of time and of money I did expend!

“Knowing is good, knowing much is best”,

So, I once thought, like many of the rest.

But then I came this fact to know,

The truth that this is not always so.

Mere knowing can be of just no use,

The ego how it can cleverly seduce!

Volumes one may be able to repeat,

But in itself this is no awesome feat.

A laptop computer or a smart phone

Can make to us all this easily known.

True knowledge, so I came to learn,

Is what from within we can discern,

From the Voice that lies deep inside,

The True Teacher or Infallible Guide.

When I arrived at this crucial turn,

Those books I knew I had to spurn.

How strange it all is, this whole affair

Of these books for which I no longer care.

To use a simile you can well understand,

It’s a torrid love affair now turned bland.
