If The One Does It All

If it’s true I really don’t know,

But maybe it could well be so,

That every thought, in every head,

Every word that comes to be said,

Every deed that happens to be done,

The doer of them all is The One,

If, as some say, there’s just none

In all of existence but The One,

The One alone being all that there is,

All beings and things just forms of His,

So that actions appearing to be their own

Are all actually done by The One alone,

Termed ‘neutral’, ‘good’, or ‘perverse’,

Deeds done unfathomably diverse,

It's The One alone who these performs,

Through His innumerably many forms,

And that this being so we can realise

If from this illusion we are able to rise

Of seeing these forms as each separate

Sentient beings and things insensate,

Arriving thus at the grand epiphany

Of they being The One in the garb of many.

If all this is true and I am not wrong,

The One's been the Sole Doer all along,

And so, for them, who’s to praise or blame,

If the doer of all deeds is one and the same?
