If You Really Do Exist, As All Of Them Say...

Oh the many things they say about You,
Each claiming that they alone are true,
Oh what a deafening furore they make
(And all this supposedly for Your sake)!
With tales about You that they call Your Word
(These they claim that it's from You they heard)
And many lies in Your name that they've spun,
The blind following of vast millions they've won.
They've no firm proof, but still, even so,
Fiercely they insist on claiming to know
That all about You that they believe is right,
And so, against others being swift to fight.
See how they squabble, what an awful din,
No wonder Your world’s in the shape it’s in!
What misery it’s caused, what awful pain,
Maybe nothing else could be more insane!
I hope that with me You will heartily agree
That from this madness they must be set free.
If so, may it happen soon, be quick please,
So that their squabbling they'll finally cease.
If You really do exist, as all of them say,
Cause them to put their differences away,
And make them realize You as You are:
As the One appearing as all, not some ogre far,
And then, on seeing each other to be just You,
Their ancient squabble will be put a firm end to.
