Is It True That We’re All You?

Is it true, could You please tell me,

That all things that happen to be,

And all events that take place,

Everywhere, in all of Space,

Are all merely and simply You

Being and doing as You choose to,

That all forms that exist, diverse,

In this immensely vast universe,

Are You appearing in their guise,

In varying shape, and also size,

And all actions they seem to do

Are actually done just by You?

I’m not sure, but I hope it’s true,

That all that exists is simply You,

That all beings and things there are

Are You appearing in guises bizarre,

That these are really one and same:

You, engaged in a strange game,

Where myriad forms You take on,

Innumerable garbs You decide to don,

Through each playing a different role,

But being behind them the doer sole,

Though this fact we don’t realise,

Since to this You’ve shut our eyes,

Not wanting that we should know

The truth behind Your cosmic show,

In which it’s You alone who play,

Doing all deeds in Your own way.

Only if You tell me can I know

If what I here say is really so.

You haven’t said yet, but maybe

One day You’ll reveal it to me.

Till then Your answer I will await,

Perhaps continuing thus to speculate,

Knowing well, at the back of my mind,

That by this the truth I can’t ever find.
