Just Because It Was Told of Old

Just because it was told of old
In some books that they hold
To be Your very own Word
(From long past so they heard),
They believe those foolish tales.
When I think of it, my mind fails,
These tales that simple logic deny
And basic ethics so brazenly defy.
Your gift of Reason they refuse,
Commonsense they don’t use,
Blindly to those tales they cling,
Fervently believing in everything
That those books of theirs relate.
Ah Lord, what a truly sad state!
I’m almost driven to full despair,
This madness only You can repair.
