If of boredom You don’t want me to die,
To waste my life in moan, groan and sigh,
If You really want that I should spend
Each moment to me that You may lend
In the manner that's the very best,
With joy, passion and great zest,
Doing good things You appreciate
Making for myself a worthy fate,
A fate in which You can take delight,
Knowing with my time here I did right,
Then You must arrange all I need
To make this dream come true indeed.
Ample opportunities You must send my way
To keep me best engaged all through the day.
You must arrange all this if You really wish
To see that I’m spared the great anguish
Of being by sheer boredom driven mad,
Surely, You’ll spare me a fate so sad!
They say that You seek always our best,
If it's true, then please heed my request,
So that of boredom I don’t go insane,
Unable to bear ennui’s awful pain.
I turn to You now and ask You to give
All that I need in the best way to live.
