In Your name such madness rife,

Barbarities galore and awful strife,

Falsehood based on gross ignorance,

Greed, hate, and ‘pious’ arrogance,

Vast numbers driven to bloody war,

Even today, just as was long before,

Unleashing campaigns of genocide,

Claiming that You're on their side,

Crass oppression dressed in ‘holy’ guise,

All this built on a big mountain of lies.

Oh what evil they continue to do,

Declaring it to be blessed by You,

Doing it all while taking Your name,

For this, now tell me, who’s to blame?

You know it well, much better than me,

How this state of affairs came to be,

How this madness overtook the world,

As rival camps their banners unfurled,

Sweeping across this Earth of Yours,

And drowning it in strife and wars,

And why all this You did permit

(If it Yourself You didn’t commit).

But maybe there’s some hope at last

Of humans leaving behind their past,

At their own lunacy being now alarmed,

Seeing how themselves they’ve harmed,

Abandoning this madness, and, instead,

Moving beyond, to a new plane ahead,

To a plane where finally all humanity

Will be free at last of this insanity

In which they’ve been mired for long,

Discovering they’ve been so very wrong.

It might take quite some time but still,

It’s bound to happen if You so will.

If You'd ask me, I’d say You must.

That You’ll will this can I trust?
