This is What I Hope I’ll Then Say

If an insult comes my way,
This is what I hope I’ll say:
“Lord, You handle it”,
Leaving You to do Your bit.
The next time I’m hurled a curse,
These same words may I rehearse:
"Lord, You handle it",
Doing just that—yes, that’s it!
Why need I do anything more?
What, after all, are You for?
All power, they say, You possess,
Being The Almighty, yes, no less,
So, this I’m sure You will do,
If, that is, You so choose to.
Being always close, by my side,
Me You must help and guide,
Yours the task to care for me
In whatever state I may be,
And in all that I might face,
To bless me with Your grace,
So that when Your help I need,
My heart’s cry You’ll at once heed,
With not a tiny moment’s delay
Acting as soon as I might say:
"Lord, You handle it",
Doing just as You deem fit.
Lord please handle it for me
