We’re Not Here Simply Some Days to Spend

We’re not here simply some days to spend,

Just to pass time till we reach death’s bend.

This, surely, isn’t the reason why we’re here,

To while away our life on trivialities mere.

Reflect on your days, see how you make them go,

What you’re doing with life you’ll come to know.

Maybe then this point you’ll come to understand:

That your purpose for living you should expand.

And how do you do that if you want to?

It’s really simple, for all you need to do

Is sit silently and to your Self this query pose

(The answer, your Self already well knows):

Ask your Self your life’s purpose to reveal,

And then inside, the answer you will feel,

Welling up within you, in a manner clear,

Telling you why you’ve been brought here,

And here what it is that you’re meant to do:

All these matters will be revealed unto you.

And then you’ll know there's a plan in place,

Set specially for you that you must now face.

And with that, you ought to, if you so decide,

Pursue the plan with firm, courageous stride,

So that your life’s purpose you’ll then complete,

Following which you can go on to joyfully meet

The One who made you and sent you ‘down’ here.

Listen to these words and act accordingly, dear.
