A Worthy Purpose for Living

What meaning for our life do we derive,

An ultimate purpose to remain alive,

That to ourselves we may boldly give,

For which we want to continue to live:

Some passion or cause driving us ahead

Through life’s journey until we fall dead

That makes being here seem well worth it,

Of significance to us sufficiently adequate?

This grand reason in order for us to learn

It’s to You, Lord, that we have to turn,

For, since it’s You who has kept us here,

This it's You alone who can make us infer.

Through our own efforts we just can’t decide,

This good enough reason only You can provide.
