Come, Sit With Me, Please Will You?

Come, my dear, for a while let’s sit

And do nothing at all—that’s just it!

Simply witness Time’s constant flow,

As moments come and then they go,

Arriving and soon made to disappear,

Come, let’s together do this, my dear!

For only a short while, don’t you worry,

For once at least cease being in a hurry.

Let’s now savour non-doing’s great calm,

For the frenzied mind, this healing balm,

And in silence let’s notice the Self reveal

Itself to us, oh what great bliss we’ll feel,

Our true Self that lies concealed behind

Our ever-busy, chattering monkey-mind!

No, dear, it’s not precious time’s waste,

Going off to being busy don’t be in haste.

Spare to do nothing just a minute or two,

Come, dear, sit with me, please will you?
