It’s Now That I Clearly Understood

It’s now that I clearly understood

That You’re doing this for my good,

For, You see things that I can’t see,

And You know what’s best for me.

In Your wisdom my lot You decide,

Not burdening me with more beside

Only that which You know I can bear,

Showing thus how for me You care.

With my assigned lot being discontent,

I wished things could’ve been different.

In my foolishness I thought I’d try to be

Other than what You’d planned for me.

But now I know, it’s so very clear to me,

That my fate unfolding with Your decree

Is what’s most certainly the best for me.

This I’m now very clearly getting to see.

So, I thank You, and what more can I say?

Lead me to delight in Your having Your way

And to know that what You will will will be

The very best of all, in every way, for me.
