Madness in Your name: will it ever end?

To speak for You how they all pretend!

The claims they make, with zeal and zest,

As if You’ve chosen them above the rest,

And Your Will to them You have revealed

And from the rest You’ve kept concealed,

So that their word all others must obey,

And be and do just as they might say,

Being told that if this they dare refuse,

Your good pleasure they’ll surely lose,

And that You will in anger to them turn,

And cause them in Hell to forever burn,

All this they claim You have clearly said

(Though it’s, in fact, just their lie instead).

When from this madness will You grant us release?

Oh, make it soon happen, yes Lord, please!
