Maybe She's Come to Give This Message to Me!

I have no idea from where she came,
This dragonfly on the window frame,
With globular head and body slender,
Four fairy-like wings, brittle and tender,
And bulbous eyes and six needle-like feet,
Oh, what a beautiful sight, a lovely treat!
Â
Perched upside down, maybe a foot away,
Her wings in the light breeze gently sway,
Her head and her body are perfectly still,
Happy resting quietly as long as she will,
Letting moments to arrive and then to go,
Bearing witness to Time’s ceaseless flow.
Â
Minutes have gone by, and hours may too,
And she seems content with just this to do:
Sitting by herself, no movement, nor sound,
Simply observing things happening around,
Delighting in her silence and in merely to be.
Maybe she's come to give this message to me!
