Oh How These Moments Come and Go!

A moment appears, at once flies past,
And then how swiftly, so very fast,
Another rushes in to take its place,
As if engaged in some frenzied race.
Oh how these moments come and go,
One after another, in an endless row,
Since beginningless Time, with no rest,
As if marching on some great conquest.
Without a pause ahead Time firmly goes,
On a great mission that God alone knows,
We know nothing of what drives it ahead,
But perhaps they do who are thought dead.
Maybe, then, it’s only when we leave
The earthly body to which we so cleave,
When our stay here recedes into the past,
That Time’s great mystery we’ll learn at last!
