Others I Mustn’t Any Longer Blame

Others I mustn’t any longer blame,
I should stop going on about the same,
For I know now that I’ve been so wrong
In blaming others for my woes all along.
We will find, if we carefully observe,
That we get exactly what we deserve,
Nothing less, and nothing more.
All that for us might lie in store
Is the result of deeds our own,
We caused it all, yes we alone,
By deeds in this life, and earlier too,
Making things to happen as they do.
It’s not that God our destiny does dictate,
No, we are the creators of our own fate.
This being so, it means, therefore,
I must no longer, not any more,
Blame others for the troubles I face,
In them my own hand I should trace,
Discerning thereby that they had to be,
That they were bound to happen to me,
As the result of negative actions my own,
The fruit of these deeds that I had sown.
If I think thus, I’ll perhaps realise
That blaming others just isn’t wise.
I shouldn’t bear ill will for those all
Who were a means for this to befall,
Being an instrument for me to bear
The fruit of my own deeds, wrong, unfair.
If I view things in this way, I might
Handle challenges in a manner right.
At the very least, one thing it will do:
I’ll stop blaming others, as I used to,
And, instead, this I'll clearly get to see:
My own actions led for things thus to be.

We are the creators of our own fate.....
