Reflections

1.   Do things willingly, because you truly want to, not because you feel compelled to.

2.   If they insult, you can exult.

3.   Throw off the thralldom of those texts!

4.   There must be some very grand purpose for life on Planet Earth amidst the vast Universe even though we may never be quite sure what it is.

5.   It’s not your job to try to please others.

6.   If God spoke to some people in the past, as they say, surely He must speak to us now as well.

7.   Seek God in yourself, not in some book.

8.   To live not by the Inner Light but by a book—ah! What a waste of a life!

9.   It’s worth noting the painful fact that billions of people down the centuries have believed that a particular belief system is not just fully true and perfect but also the best of all simply because they happened to have been born into a family that held that very same belief for numerous generations.

10.                     Blind, unreasonable belief is a bondage that many zealously embrace.

11.                     To insist that assent to this or that empirically unverifiable dogma is necessary to please God or to obtain salvation is a sin of the highest order, and one that is only too often committed.

12.                     It’s how you are as a person, not what dogmas you assent to, that's the main thing.
