This New Day You’ve Brought Me To

This new day You’ve brought me to:

What with it do You want me to do?

How its each moment should I spend?

To what all tasks today should I attend?

It’s for You alone to tell me this all,

This is because as far as I can recall,

It’s You alone who chose this for me,

That here, in this new day, I must be;

It’s You who brought me here today,

For a reason which You alone can say.

If for me here today You have some plan,

Please make me perform it as best I can,

Some things I should do, or folks to meet,

Or maybe to accomplish some great feat,

Actions to undertake, be they big or small,

In the best manner make me do them all.

Every moment You keep me here today

Make me to be and do just as You say.

May not a moment of this day go by

Spent by me in a manner You’d decry.

Send me occasions enough, I request,

To do good this day and so spend it best.

This new day that to me You've lent,

May each moment in the best way be spent!
