To This Request I Hope You’ll Agree!

Another day You’ve made to arrive,

For this new day You kept me alive.

What today I’ll think, say and do,

Let all of it be done just by You.

You these deeds’ actual Doer be,

You do all of them through me,

So while as doing them I’ll appear,

I’ll be simply an instrument mere,

As You work through me to do

Whatever it is You may wish to

Through ‘my’ body and ‘my mind’.

Oh please do so, please be so kind!

You work as You wish through me,

And I’ll do nothing but only just be.

I’ll merely observe You doing it all,

From early morning till night’s fall,

Noting whatever You do with delight,

Knowing that it surely is fully right.

What a great relief if You’ll do it all,

Every deed through me, big or small,

If doing’s burden from me You take,

Oh, please do this today, for my sake!

Oh may this happen, Oh may it so be!

Please make this day be thus for me.

From all doing today please set me free:
