True Prayer is Simply This!

They tell us to You we must pray,

To You some fixed words to say,

And lengthy litanies to also recite,

Claiming this is pleasing in Your sight.

But this one fact they never said:

True prayer is a dialogue instead,

In which You hear, and speak, too,

In the same way as we also do,

In other words, You talk with us,

Together, many things we discuss,

On all subjects we can converse,

Any topic in the whole universe!

You and we being together to chat:

True prayer is simply just that!
