When This Truth Will We Come To Know?

Oh how in Your Name us they fooled,

And over our lives they came to rule,

Making millions think, speak and do

Just as they said we really had to

If we were to please You, my Lord,

So, we thought we couldn’t afford

To refuse to obey whatever they said,

The lies about You that we were fed,

Vile tales that they spun and declared

That if for our wellbeing we truly cared,

We must believe to be Your command,

Yielding, thus, to their every demand

Over our mind, our body and our soul,

Over our very life itself as a whole,

And so, their mere slaves we became

(Across the world, it was much the same),

And down to our day this still remains,

Men’s minds shackled by heavy chains!

But how long more will we be so deceived?

When from this burden will we be relieved?

When this truth will we come to know:

That what they said about You is not so,

And that in order to connect with You,

All that we need is just this to do:

To relate directly, just as with a friend,

And not as these deluded folks pretend?
