To You I Want to State

To You, my dear, this I want to state:
The strain for me is now just too great
As a separate self any more to remain,
You know, dear, how awful is the pain
To live as a self, on Earth or elsewhere,
Do away with it if for me You care.
This ‘self’ You caused now please efface,
Do this, my dear, in Your generous grace.
Cause this phantom at once to disappear,
Do this right now, please do, my dear.
Then, when ‘I’ don’t exist, fused into You,
Do with ‘my’ body whatever You want to.
Even if You decide it be hurled into Hell,
That’s perfectly fine, it will be most well,
For if ‘my’ body remains but ‘I’’m no more,
‘I’ won’t be there to suffer the pain as before.
